About Physical Bowl
Physics Bowl is a prestigious U.S. high school physics competition organized by the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT). With 30 years of history, it attracts top students from over 500 schools across 11 countries. High scorers gain an edge in college admissions and may qualify for the U.S. Physics Olympiad training camp. The AAPT, a leading authority in physics education, supports learning through competitions, conferences, and resources covering key topics like mechanics and electromagnetism. Nearly 10,000 students compete annually, with top performers standing out in academic and college applications.

Classification of Competitions and Exam Schedule

Division 1: Covers questions 1-40; Division 2: Covers questions 11-50.
Exam date: Generally held in late March.
Format: Individual competition, written test, no lab component.
The exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions in total, with different sets of questions for different grade levels. Both divisions have a time limit of 45 minutes, averaging 1 minute and 7 seconds per question, placing strict demands on students' problem-solving speed and proficiency.
The difficulty level of Division 2 is slightly higher than that of Division 1.
