ABout GAC

The GAC program, fully known as the Global Assessment Certificate, is specifically designed by ACT for non-native English-speaking students. It aims to comprehensively develop students' academic abilities, facilitate their transition to Western university teaching models, and lay a solid foundation for successfully completing their higher education.

Students can enroll in the GAC program at ACT-authorized schools or teaching centers. To ensure teaching quality, ACT rigorously evaluates the qualifications of these institutions. Upon completing the GAC program, students can take the ACT test multiple times at their own school. With their ACT scores, they can apply to universities in various English-speaking countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and more.

GAC Teaching and Assessment

GAC teaching adopts a student-centered approach, utilizing a variety of methods such as lectures, seminars, personalized tutoring, team activities, discussions, and presentations. The teaching materials for each GAC subject include a student book and a teacher’s book. Additionally, supplementary resources such as the GAC Academic Essay Writing Handbook, GAC Citation Guide, and GAC Academic Research Guide are provided. Both instruction and materials are delivered entirely in English.

GAC students are required to complete regular assessments to demonstrate the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the course. The evaluation primarily consists of formative assessments, including role-plays, public speaking, research papers, project-based learning, academic presentations, and more. By completing the GAC program, students not only receive a GAC transcript, a completion certificate, and an official ACT test score but also gain essential skills for success in university and the workplace.
