About AMC(American Mathematics Competition)

The AMC (American Mathematics Competition), established in 1951 by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), is one of the most prestigious math contests in the world. Every year, over 300,000 registered students in North America alone participate in the competition. The AMC is widely recognized as the most credible math assessment globally, with synchronized testing conducted in more than 20 countries outside the U.S.

The AMC serves not only as a talent pool for America’s top math students but also provides schools with a reliable evaluation of applicants’ mathematical abilities. As a result, many students gain admission to their dream schools thanks to their outstanding AMC performance.

Must-Know Information Before Taking the AMC

For Chinese candidates, the AMC series includes the following four exams: AMC-8, AMC-10, AMC-12, and AIME. Among them, AMC-10/12 are divided into Exam A and Exam B, with the only difference being the administration time. There is no fixed sequence for taking these exams, and capable students may skip grades to participate. The use of calculators or any electronic devices is prohibited, but English dictionaries are allowed.
